June 18, Week 2

Its been a great experience so far.I am back to my second week of my internship and I am looking forward to this

June 15, Visit to the new terminal

It was a pretty fun day for me over all. In the morning i came in and set my stuff and went on to get my coffee. I seem to start my day with a small 8 oz cup because it gives me a little boost that gives me beneficial factors. It was nearing 9 when i stayed at my cubical thinking that i would stay inside the entire day. Then came in Mr. Salsburry and mentioned that we would be going to the new terminal. I was very excited to hear this because I've never been there and was eagerly waiting for the tour. We went there and i was simply amazed by the beauty of the terminal and how organized and efficient it was. I was also blown away by two of the ceiling ornaments which were valued at a million dollars a piece. We went downstairs and to places that not any passenger can witness. We came back around lunch time and we found ourselves going out to eat. As we came back i was placed under work on the certificates that i was given for Ms. Finley. It was a great day overall and i can not forget the time sheet. $$$

June 14

Thursday, ahh Thursday. It means its just one more day until Friday. We were up ready in the morning and ready to work with Mr. Alexander. It was 8:30 and we went to go look for him to get the As-Built drawings that we would need to complete the inspection at the airport parking decks. It was a fun experience once we got there, we learned how to do one side of the deck so that the other side would be more proficient.It was a hot day and the boots were not a benefit to the substantial walking we would in fact be doing. It was a fun day and nothing couldve gone wrong. I felt big because at first the drawings looked like Chicken scratch but i learned how to read them later on. Then when we came back we worked with Mr. Francis and began his inventory. After this i was given the certification assignments at 2:30 from Ms. Finley to use for the celebration we would have for the interns.

June 13, Early Labor

This of course is my 3rd day working here and i could say that for the morning i was very excited to be here. Well to be honest i was just in such a joyous mood to be there for the entire day. Early in the morning me and Tre'vyon had been working with Mr.Bruce Taylor in moving around Floor mats. I didnt expect it to be so much  work but it was all easily doable. I then had a meeting with Mr. Alexander but forgot and was a little late. However we were greeted pleasantly when we met him and he explained to us the inspection that we would do the next day at the aiport parking lots.

June 12

8:00 am -5:00 pm

This is my second day here at my internship for H-JDP. So far it has been a tremendous experience but today was a turn around for me. I worked for David Washington and he was an excellent man to get along with. He provided me with my assignment for the day and at first glance it seemed overwhelming. I was to analyze and reconcile the excel spreadsheets based on financial differences. I was to basically figure out the variances for 'primavera" and the "pip module". It took me a while to finish this work and i believed i could have gone faster, and i did but later towards the end. Then Trey'vyon came back from his expedition at the airport and I taught him how to do the assignment which was left for him as well. So to make the work easier we worked together and was able to finish up in the next day which was a great accomplishment for us. However back to this day i was able to learn how Financial situations are best formatted in excel and their comprehension . 

June 11, Orientation

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm
Today is my first day at the internship.I am well pleased with what is going on. Upon arriving at the job site, I came in and was greeted by Ms. Pamela Calhoun. A few other interns as well as myself sat in the waiting room area until we were brought to the back to meet some people around the area. I also learned that I will have my own "office area" and i was greatly pleased with what was given to me.I became familiarized with a few people and learned my way around the building. Of course after we were all settled in we began our orientation with Ms.Calhoun. This orientation included paperwork that needed to be filled out and a basic intro to what H-JDP actually is. I learned that acronyms would become a great deal in my work area. My lunch hours were from noon to 1 and right after lunch we were sent to a conference room to be explained of the safety rules that would  be needed in the work area. After this Thomas and Kelley showed us around to more people and were able to get business cards from them and introduce ourselves. Its been a tremendous experience so far. Everyone hear is courteous and I'm beginning to see how they all contribute to each others parts. I'm really hoping to get the most that I can from this internship,i know that i'll be able to learn so much if I apply myself in entirety.
